Mahasweta Ray has been a leading actress in Odia-(Oriya) as well as in Bengali film industry for a long time. She was born in Puri,Odisha. She studied in Sri Aurobinda International Centre of Education(High School) and SCS College,Puri. Now she lives in Mumbai.

Noted for her versatility and acknowledged as one of the finest actresses of Odia Cinema. She did a number of films, some of which were very successful. She has won many awards for her performances in many movies and ‘Sesa Shrabana’ was her first ever movie with legendary actors Prashanta Nanda and Hemanta Das.
