Today 10th of July, 2011 marks a day of significance for the youth of Odisha as they take a step to explore into the lives of children who need hope and light to make a future.

Youth Fraternity of Kalinga is a initiative by a group of students who want to do something productive for the country and reform the youth by making them responsible. Perhaps there is no sole cause to revolt but the sole motto of the Youth Fraternity of Kalinga (also known as YFK) is to motivate the youth and unleash their true potential.

YFK lands up at Ashraya Ashram,Aiginia,Bhubaneswar looking to inspire young minds who have no family or no guiding hand to look after. The YFK organised a drawing competition and the 27 children at orphanage created wonders on paper using their colorful minds. It was like remembering the scene from Taare Zameen Par where a lot of children gathered to do some art work.

There was also entertainment in the background where YFK members sung motivational songs and gave a smile on the faces of the children. The children are all disciplined. They pray before they take their supper. We,the YFK were impressed. After lunch, YFK gave off the prizes to the winners and later there was a good photo session with the children. Later there was a interactive session between the YFK and the children regarding their aims,their problems,their basic amenities and prospects.

The YFK was able to solve their minor problems by putting up lights in their rooms. The only source of entertainment for the children was a TV that was not functioning. The YFK has taken it for repairs so that smiles will rise on the face of the children. Overall it was a big learning experience, the trustee has managed a lot for them.

Life is not the same for all. So the YFK will look forward to bring a massive change in the outlook and thinking of the youth. We,the YFK have pledged to do it so and we will continue to serve the nation till the rest of our lives.
