She is one of the most sought after and respected actors in the Oriya film industry. She also has a tryst with Telugu, Bengali and Chhattisgarhi cinemas. Yet behind the glamour and the glitz, Naina Dash exudes a confident, "girl nextdoor" feeling.

Early Life: 

The actor started working when she was in class 12. She was offered to host Prathama Swara, a reality show on OTV. The world of mega-serials beckoned and she starred in Raju Mishra's Duhita that won her the best supporting actress in 2002. After this, Naina never looked back. She continued to host music and dance shows and also play lead roles in several tele-serials and films. She also debuted in Maa Mangala, a Oriya film in 2002. Since she had always wanted to pursue a career in singing, she did her graduation from the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in Odissi vocal. "I began working at an early age. So I never got a chance to enjoy my college days even during my stint in Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. Many good offers came my way and there was no reason why I would say no. As a result, I always ran short of attendance. But I was sure that I had to excel in both the fields," says Naina.Though big screen offers kept pouring in, she never compromised on her academic career. She did Masters in PR and Advertising from Utkal University. She was quite the multi-tasker juggling her time between dance shows, films and academics..

Life And Career:

  She won the state-level Sadvabana award for best film actress of the year in 2004 and also best anchor of the year (AB Visuals). She was even voted as the most wanted anchor of the Orissa for ETV Oriya in 2005.At present, she is pursuing MBA from Regional College of Management (RCM), which she claims is the best period of her life as far as academics is concerned. Her excellence in acting took her to the Telugu film industry where her first Telugu film Junction released last year. She also did a Bengali film besides two Chhattisgarhi movies.
