Blind Miss India Contest:14 Selected in First Round
Bhubaneswar: In a first-of-its-kind event for visually impaired persons, the Miss India Contest for the Blind and Low Vision Girls will be held at Mumbai this year. The branches of National Association for the Blind (NAB) is carrying out selection programmes to shortlist participants for the event across the country.
The NAB, Odisha conducted a programme at the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Handicapped (VRCH) here on Sunday. Of 56 participants, 14 were selected in the first round. On August 28, the second round of selection will be held at VRCH where two completely blind and two from the partially blind segment will be shortlisted. The four contestants will take part in the pre-finals scheduled to be held in September.
